Mikey the Sleepwalker
The other night, Joel and I went upstairs to check on the kids before we went to bed and this is what we found along the way. Mikey had gotten up to go the bathroom. Apparently the journey back upstairs was just too much for him, so he had to pull off at a rest stop. He takes after his daddy. There was a time that I found Joel standing on our bed in the middle of the night. When I asked him what he was doing, he informed that he was changing a light bulb. I said, "Um. Honey? We don't have a light over our bed." He looked around and said, "We don't?" I said, "Nope." So, he stepped down, crawled back into bed and fell fast asleep. Help! These sleepwalkers scare me!

Seems to me a little girl I know fell asleep on the doorstep OUTSIDE in her jammies one night waiting for her Daddy to come home from a business trip.
That Mikey is adorable even when he hangs upside down on the stairs...asleep.
Awwwwww, haw, haw, haaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!
So cute (the part about Mikey, that is. The part about Joel is just plain freaky)!
And by the way, I can totally empathize with Mikey. I mean, when you're tired, you're tired. There's no getting around it. If you happen to be heading up the stairs in the process and need a little power nap, then you just have to take it right then and there. And speaking of being tired, I'm up early tomorrow a.m. and need to head to bed.
Good night all.
Isabella doesn't do this anymore --but I have pictures of her from when she was a year old up until maybe 18 months where she would fall asleep standing up next to the couch, laying on the floor in a pile of toys, etc. Right now, we would just like her to go to bed and fall asleep there without throwing a fit! :)
"Anonymous" (alias, Mamma) what happend to your name anyway? Wasn't there a time when it said "Kooby", what am I saying!? Anonymous is just fine! Yes, I do remember Sleeping Beauty, DOE, I mean myself waiting for Daddy to come home from a business trip and falling asleep. I got tired of counting the cars that went by.
Kristine, you think Joel is the freaky one!!!??? Well, you ain't one to judge freaky sleepers, Frankestein! You still scare me when you sleep over!
by the way, you got a little giggle out me over your description of having to drop and sleep. You out of them all know it best!
DeAnna, I remember your stories about Isabella falling asleep anywhere, even standing up. Too funny! Mikey did that for the first time tonight. He fell asleep in church and when I tried to wake him up after it was over, I wasn't very sucessful. He stood up and laid his little head on the back of a chair and continued sleeping. He was swaying back and forth, so someone said, "Lay that poor child back down before he tips over!" We always said that he and Isabella would make a good pair! :o)
Uht ohhhhhhh, I hate to be a nag, but I'm gonna have to say you're due for a new post.
You, too!
