Tis the Season

11 snowflakes fell from the sky and this is what the kids did.

And this is what I did...

Hey, it's December 1st, folks! Tis the season to be jolly! This weekend was jolly indeed. We decided to put up the Christmas tree. I took periodic pictures as it was going up. Now, you can scroll through really fast, and see it go up in 1.3 seconds. It's sort-of like those flip cartoon books we had as kids. I like to provide you all with a little entertainment here on "blogging memories." :o)

First things first. It's our tradition to break open the egg nog on tree decorating night. Personally I can't stand the stuff. I don't know if it's the thickness of the drink, or just the word "egg" in it that gives me the dry heaves. Annie and Matt slug it down like a hot, sweaty basketball player at half time. Again, that thought alone is making me heave a little. (sorry mom)

Ok, get your handle scroller ready for the fastest tree decorating you've ever done...

And there ya have it.

And the night ambiance.

I love this time of the year. Right now, I'm listening to Bing Crosby sing "Silent Night." We've got the tree up, garland galore on every square inch of the house, presents hid in every corner, kids giddy with egg nog overload trying to fall asleep, and 4 snowflakes left outside on the ground. Ahhhhhhh, Christmas is here.

Love it!! We put up a tiny little pink tree in the girls room and are hoping to go get our real Christmas tree either tomorrow or Thursday night. I'm SOOOO in the Christmas mood and I hope I can enjoy every moment of it because it never lasts long enough. I'm with you on the egg nog, just the idea makes me sick, but bring on the hot cocoa!! :)

I've seen those pink trees. I think they're so cute.

And what do you mean, you're going to get your "real Christmas tree." Ours is totally real! Nothing artificial about it! We bought it branch by branch.

Too funny -- I was actually not being rude to your beautiful tree (if you saw the artificial one we had you'd really laugh, honestly its not the kind you put together by sections, its the kind you get out of the box, give it one good whack on the floor to hopefully fluff the branches out) I was really just meaning, the little pink tree was not going to be our ACTUAL Christmas tree. And if LIVE trees are crazy expensive, we might be bringing out our ugly one. :) By the way, I heard we had snow in this area today. I took a nap with the girls since we were all feeling sick and I think I missed our only snow of the season. :)

Ohhhhhh! I'm SO homesick! The tree looks wonderful!!! I love it. I could almost hear Bing singing as I read your blog.

Does Mary still like eggnog? Remember "GOOD BA-BA?" Makes me laugh everytime I think of it.

The "slushman" you built was pretty sad, Beck. Stick to Christmas trees, and save the snowman for ME! All the grandkids and I make AWESOME snow people. Right, guys?

Oh ho hoooooooooo, Krissy's got a little competition for you down here. . .
We put ours up even before Thanksgiving--kind of wacko I know, but we wanted Melody to be able to enjoy it when she was visiting from Chicago last weekend.
Hard to believe Christmas Eve is just 3 weeks away!
