Mark 6:31 And He said to them, "Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while."
One of my favorite passages! Jesus recognized our need to get away and rest. :o) That's just what we did this past week. We had a wonderful, fun-filled, relaxing vacation at family camp. The kids were reunited with their friends. Within minutes, they were off riding thier bikes, laughing and having a wonderful time. Joel and I found the rocking chairs with "our names on them" and sat with coffees in hand, enjoying the peace and quiet. -no media terrorizing us about thefts, murders and horrible grocery and gas prices. God blessed our time together. During this restful period, we were rejuvinated through the preaching of His word. How thankful I am that each year, it has been something that we especially needed. Although we were on vacation, God's working in our lives sure wasn't! I am home now...refreshed and refocused on the job that God has given me to do.
Last, but certainly not the least of our praises...the Lord sold our house while we were away! :o)
Here a few photos from this past week....
(Friends of ours that I grew up attending family camp with. I've known these sisters since I was 4. Now, that we are the moms, our children are enjoying running around camp with each other. It's so sweet to see "history repeating itself.")
