Our Baby

Our little "baby" isn't so little anymore. I'm realizing how quickly she has grown from "baby" to "toddler" over night. Annie is definitely her "daddy's girl." When he comes home from work, she squeals "DAD-DEEEEE" so loud, I'm surprised you guys down south can't hear. (tried to be REAL vague concerning your "where abouts"...don't want to blow your cover, unlike some other people I know!) Annie started playing "mommy" today. Problem was that she picked a dolly that was just as big as she is and she was trying to lug it all around the house. -now,maybe she knows how I feel! She is also into the "shy" thing. If she does something cute and Joel and I stand back and watch her, she will ever so slowly look up at us and then cover her face with the back of her hand. It's so funny to me that a one year old will get embarrassed over the proud looks that her daddy and mommy give her, but not the least bit embarrassed to be wearing a diaper. The other day, we all climbed into the car. I put Annie into her car seat next to Mary. Mary glanced over at her and then exclaimed, "Look Mommy! Annie only has 3 rolls down her arms instead of 4!" Yes, indeed our baby girl is growing up and if 3 rolls down the arms instead of 4 rolls is a sign of growing up, then maybe, just maybe, there is hope for me yet!

Awwwwwww, I can't believe how grown up she looks!!! She is quite the Blondie, huh? 3 rolls instead of 4!! Woooo-weee, congratulations, baby. Her teeth are so cute! =D

yes, bless her heart, her teeth are IN! I had her on the changing table and noticed that she had a new tooth. So, I said, "Let me see your teeth, baby...do this.." and then I opened my mouth and said, "Ahhh" and didn't that stinker stuff a wet wipe in my mouth faster than you can say Colegate toothpaste!

Hey, Welcome back, DeAnna. I can't wait to hear all about your trip.

I love that first one too. She was sitting there and a few seconds later, the head went down. I quick grabbed my camera and went behind the chair and "wa-lah", the perfect "innocent" picture. -innocent in MAJOR quotes there! :o) I will always cherish that picture though. Her face looks so sweet and the cheeks so kissable. :o)

K, yeah, I guess she really is a blonde baby now. It's funny because I still see the little newborn with the jet black hair. But clearly, she is a blondie for sure. She'll have to let us know if "blondes really do have more fun." I wonder if it will go dark again?? Dad had major blonde hair as a toddler. Maybe he could answer the pressing question of whether or not blondes really do have more fun. :o)

Imagine Dad as a blonde. That's a funny thought, isn't it?

Just last week when I was getting pictures out for Kenny's scrapbook, I came across pictures of Kenny holding Mary and me holding Mary when she was just a tiny baby (I don't know how old, but I do know that I was there for her baby shower at Yankee Candle) Anyway, I remember her reminding me of a little Indian papoose, all wrapped up in a blanket, with black hair and darker complexion. So cute - I wonder if Annie's hair will be like Mary's, stay blonde or get really dark. Mine was actually light when I was little. It was almost blonde for a while, then it had a little bit of a reddish tint, and even in kindergarten it was still a light brown and it just kept getting darker.

I'd forgotten how dark Mary was. How funny that you had light hair, Deanna. As for you, Rebecca, she certainly does not take after her Mama. Seriously, girl, I swear you were part gorilla. ;) Awwwww, but you were cute and fuzzy. Speaking of dark hair, I about slapped my eyebrow lady this past Saturday b/c she convinced me to let her do my upper lip. Don't know where that one came from, but I just thought I'd share since it's only us gals in here.

DeAnna,

Yes, she was a little dark Indian looking baby...a lot how Annie was. I didn't know you were light headed. (ok, maybe I should have said, "blonde" instead of "light headed"-sorry. :o)

As far as my gorilla background, Kristine, if I'm not mistaken I do believe we came from the same Ma and Pa ,so if I'm half monkey than so are you! One more thing...I'm rubber, you're glue, whatever you say bounces off of me and sticks to you!!!!!!! (lol, I just wrote "stinks to you" instead of "sticks")

No, light headed was more like it for me - I think the blonde look didn't last very long. :)

Ahhhhh, I hate to be bossy here, my love, but I think I'm going to have to say it's time to post some new pictures again. You're kinda faltering a bit here, my dear.

Yeah, I was getting ready to post on my blog a Missing poster with a picture of Becky - seems like she has dropped off the face of the earth the last several days. :)
